CHAKWERA HAILS MALAWI-SOUTH KOREA TIES, URGES GRADUATES TO DRIVE DEVELOPMENT

President Lazarus Chakwera has praised Malawi’s strong bilateral relations with South Korea, calling them a testament to the country’s growth and development. He reaffirmed his government’s commitment to sustaining the partnership.

Speaking at the 10th graduation ceremony of Daeyang University, Chakwera emphasized the vital role of collaboration between educational institutions and government in shaping future leaders. He urged graduates to contribute to national prosperity, recognizing the existing partnership as a catalyst for making education accessible to Malawian youth.

“I cannot emphasize enough how essential it is to develop future leaders. Institutions like this serve as key partners in empowering Malawian youth through education and healthcare,” Chakwera stated.

He also stressed the importance of self-reliance and economic growth, drawing parallels with Daeyang University’s journey of expansion.

Chancellor and university founder You-Keun Chung encouraged graduates to use their skills and determination to help build a thriving nation. “I know the struggles of poverty firsthand. It is not a shame but an enemy we must unite to defeat,” he said.

Ambassador Jae-Kyung Park of South Korea expressed confidence in the university’s leadership and pride in the graduates’ accomplishments, urging them to embrace self-love and determination in their journey ahead.
