DIMT GRADUATES 297 STUDENTS, URGES INTEGRITY AND CONTINUED LEARNING

The Domasi Institute of Management and Technology (DIMT) held its graduation ceremony at Robins Park in Zomba, where 297 students were awarded diplomas in various fields.

DIMT Principal Alfred Gulani expressed gratitude for the milestone and voiced confidence that the graduating students would serve as agents of change in their communities. He urged them to uphold integrity and avoid corruption, which he described as a major obstacle to national development.

“Corruption is often perpetrated by educated individuals, so we urge you to refrain from such malpractices and instead contribute positively to the country’s progress,” Gulani said.

He also encouraged the graduates to further their education, noting that a diploma is only the beginning of a lifelong academic journey.

The event was held under the theme: “Bridging the Gap Between Knowledge and Practice for Sustainable Development.”

The 297 graduates earned diplomas in disciplines such as Community Development and Social Work, Data Management, Hotel and Hospitality Management, Human Resource Management, HIV/AIDS Management, Agribusiness Management, Public Health, Nutrition, Food Security, and Sustainable Development.

Guest of honor Rodney Chikafutwa commended DIMT for advancing the Malawi 2063 vision through quality education. He recommended that the institution consider transitioning into a university, citing its outstanding efforts in equipping students with practical knowledge and skills.

One of the graduates, Sibongile Chirambo, shared her joy and relief at completing her studies despite facing various challenges, describing the achievement as a dream come true.
