BAKALI PLEDGES MORE DEVELOPMENT IN LIKANGALA IF RE-ELECTED

Munira Bakali, Councillor for Likangala Ward in Zomba City, has pledged to continue driving development in the area if given a fresh mandate in the September 16 general election.

Bakali said she plans to complete ongoing road projects and empower young people through vocational training programs.

During her tenure, she highlighted key achievements, including the construction of a tarred road from Mpondabwino Trading Centre to the University of Malawi. She now aims to extend similar developments to surrounding areas like Chilupsa.

A holder of a master’s degree in Public Administration and Management from the University of Malawi, Bakali said she is passionate about youth empowerment through education, especially vocational skills training, to help them become responsible and productive citizens.

She also announced plans to support women with financial assistance to help them start small-scale businesses.

“I have achieved a lot during my five-year tenure building roads and bridges, distributing relief items, and providing cash transfers to the vulnerable,” she said, urging residents to vote for her to continue and expand these efforts.

Jeremia Mazulo, a resident of Likangala Ward, praised Bakali as a committed and responsive leader who has brought meaningful change to the area. He encouraged fellow residents to re-elect her so she can continue her good work.
