M’MBELWA V URGES CHAKWERA TO SELL MCP MANIFESTO NATIONWIDE

Paramount Chief M’mbelwa V has called on President Lazarus Chakwera to take the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) manifesto to all corners of the country as Malawians prepare for the September 25 General Elections.

Speaking at M’mbelwa Stadium in Mzimba on Tuesday, where Chakwera launched the MCP campaign in the northern region, the traditional leader said the event provided a crucial platform for the President to explain his government’s achievements and outline future plans.

“We are pleased that we can see some of the development projects which your government has implemented, and one of them is this stadium. As traditional leaders in the northern region, we feel honoured that the regional campaign is being launched here in Mzimba,” said M’mbelwa.

The paramount chief further urged all political parties to prioritize peace and avoid violence during the campaign period.

“Campaign rallies should be issue-based, not platforms for castigating individuals to gain political mileage. I know the people of the north are peace-loving, and I urge them to continue promoting political tolerance as they have always done for the sake of unity in the country,” he added.

President Chakwera is expected to use the northern tour to highlight MCP’s development track record and rally support ahead of the polls.
