DPP MP VUWA KAUNDA FULFILS ONE OF HIS CAMPAIGN PROMISES

Member of Parliament for Nkhata Bay Central, Symon Vuwa Kaunda, has begun honouring the promises he made to his constituents during the election campaign.

As part of the fulfilment, Kaunda has donated 30 iron sheets worth K6 million to Kalambwe CCAP Church under the Livingstonia Synod in Nkhata Bay District.

Speaking during the donation ceremony, Kaunda described the gesture as an act of thanksgiving following his victory in the September 16 general elections.

The MP also donated K1 million each to Kalambwe CCAP and A.I.C Church International within his constituency, pledging continued support to community development initiatives.

“I will continue supporting the community by fulfilling what I promised during the campaign. This is just the beginning — expect a lot more to happen under my leadership,” said Kaunda.

Receiving the donation, Reverend Henry Nkosi expressed gratitude for the timely support, noting that the church is still in need of additional materials to complete its long-standing project.

“We are currently looking for 200 iron sheets to complete the roofing of our new church building, which has been under construction since 2004,” said Rev. Nkosi.

Vuwa Kaunda was re-elected during the 2025 parliamentary elections to represent Nkhata Bay Central Constituency. In the same elections, Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika was re-elected as the 7th President of the Republic of Malawi, securing 56.8 percent of the votes.
