MATHANGA ISSUES A STERN WARNING AGAINST ANYONE SABOTAGING GOVERNMENT EFFORTS

Minister of Natural Resources, Energy and Mining Dr Jean Mathanga has issued a stern warning to employees of her ministry against any misconduct which is likely to affect implementation of government interventions and policies.

Dr. Mathanga said she will not hesitate to take action against any employee found sabotaging government efforts.

Speaking on Tuesday during an interface meeting with senior employees from departments under her ministry, the minister highlighted the importance of teamwork and commitment in achieving the ministry’s objectives.

“Malawians have high expectations from you as employees of this ministry, and we have a lot of work to do when it comes to issues of natural resources, energy and mining, which are crucial to the country’s development”, said Mathanga.

The Minister then urged the staff of the ministry to show utmost professionalism in the discharge of their duties to enhance the operations, saying production and expansion are priorities of her ministry.

“Let me warn you all that at all costs, avoid sabotaging, which, if you are caught, I will immediately take swift action. When discharging your duties, always think about people’s interests in terms of what they need,” she said.

Dr Mathanga added that the mandate of her ministry requires the highest form of professional ethics and consequently urged the staff to build the needed professional atmosphere to attain the desired goals of the ministry.
