Minister of Transport and Public Works, Feston Kaupa, has told Parliament that the government is working on replacing the MV Ilala, which requires urgent attention.
Kaupa said the replacement project will cost 40 million US dollars.Presenting a statement on accelerating transport and public works development in Malawi, Kaupa also announced major developments in the aviation sector.
He said Kamuzu International Airport will be transformed into a modern facility, complete with a new terminal building.Additionally, Kaupa disclosed that the Northern Region will have a new airport to bridge the current aviation gap in that part of the country.
