Leaders of the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) have converged at Khonjeni Ground in Thyolo District to attend a political rally addressed by Member of Parliament for Thyolo–Mangunda–Khonjeni Constituency, Hastings Kajomba.
The gathering, popularly known as the “Thank You” rally, marks the first major political event held by Kajomba since his victory in the September 16 General Election.
Supporters from across the constituency and surrounding areas turned up in large numbers to show appreciation and celebrate the parliamentary win.
The rally is aimed at thanking voters for the confidence they placed in Kajomba and reaffirming the DPP’s commitment to development in the constituency.
Thyolo District currently has nine Members of Parliament, all of whom are aligned with the ruling Democratic Progressive Party.
The presence of senior party officials highlights the strategic importance of the district to the DPP’s political agenda.
Among the key speakers at the rally is Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Victor Musowa, who is expected to address governance and parliamentary matters.
Also in attendance is DPP Southern Region Governor Charles Mchacha, alongside other party officials, who are using the platform to mobilize support and strengthen party unity in the district.
