Players and coaches of Mighty Wanderers have received a total of K45 million from club president Thomson Mpinganjira as a reward for winning the TNM Super League title. Each player took home K1 million, while head coach Bob Mpinganjira received K1.5 million. Assistant coach MacDonald Mtetemera and player manager Sherry Msuku got K1.25 million each, and other support staff received K1 million each.
Mpinganjira told The Nation that the bonus was given to motivate the team for their hard work and dedication to winning the championship. “We wanted to show appreciation for their efforts,” he said. The win marks a significant milestone for Wanderers, ending an eight-year wait for the title since their last triumph in 2017.
The club’s success is attributed to the team’s resilience and commitment throughout the campaign. Mpinganjira praised the players and coaching staff for their discipline and teamwork, which ultimately paid off with the championship win.
The K45 million bonus is a testament to the club’s commitment to rewarding its players and staff for outstanding performance. Mpinganjira’s gesture has been welcomed by the team, and it’s expected to boost morale for future competitions.
Mighty Wanderers are set to celebrate their title win with fans, and there’s excitement building for their final league match against Kamuzu Barracks. The team has accumulated 68 points from 29 league matches, finishing five points clear of rivals FCB Nyasa Big Bullets.
