The main Maan Cash and Carry store officially opened its doors on Wednesday afternoon in Chitipa District, a development expected to significantly boost economic growth in the area.
The opening ceremony attracted traditional leaders, government officials, business people, and members of the public who gathered to witness the launch of the new business.
Speaking during the event, Senior Chief Mwaulambia said he warmly welcomed the investment, describing it as a major step toward bringing meaningful development to the district.
The traditional leader emphasized that Chitipa’s development would be achieved if the district continues to attract more investors and business operators willing to establish their enterprises locally.
Senior Chief Mwaulambia further encouraged local residents to support the new store by buying goods locally, saying this would help sustain businesses and promote economic growth within the district.
Chitipa District Commissioner, Christopher Nawata, praised the owners of Maan Cash and Carry for choosing Chitipa as the location for their investment.
Nawata stated that the district council is committed to promoting strong collaboration between business operators and government authorities to ensure development efforts reach all parts of the district.
The opening of the store is expected to create employment opportunities for local people while also improving access to a wide range of goods and services for residents of Chitipa District.
