MALAWIAN RETURNEE DIES ON BUS WHILE TRAVELLING HOME FROM SOUTH AFRICA

A 47-year-old Malawian national has died after reportedly falling ill while travelling on a bus transporting returning Malawians from South Africa back to Malawi.

Officials at the Limpopo Home Affairs Repatriation Centre in Musina said the incident occurred shortly after the bus departed the Musina Temporary Repatriation Centre and was en route to the Beitbridge Border.

The deceased, who was part of a group returning from Durban, is reported to have complained of intense heat and difficulty breathing during the journey.

Witnesses said he removed his T-shirt before suddenly collapsing inside the bus.

In response, the driver immediately alerted authorities and turned the bus around, returning to the Musina Temporary Repatriation Centre, where the man was pronounced dead.

The unexpected death left fellow passengers in shock and mourning.
Authorities have not yet confirmed the cause of death. Further details are expected once the necessary investigations and official procedures have been completed.
