The waiting room is quiet, but the tension is loud. Across Malawi, Standard 8 and Form 2 candidates have been checking their phones every few minutes, asking teachers, and scrolling through WhatsApp groups hoping to see their Primary School Leaving Certificate of Education (PSLCE) and Junior Certificate of Education (JCE) results. For many families, the results will decide the next step in a child’s education journey.
The Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB) has stepped in to calm the growing anxiety. In a public notice posted on its official Facebook page, MANEB said the results have not yet been officially released. The board asked all candidates, parents, guardians, and teachers to hold on a little longer.
“All candidates are advised to remain patient and wait for the official announcement from MANEB,” reads part of the announcement.
The examination body emphasized that no results have been authorized for release at this time, and any list circulating elsewhere should be treated with caution.
The board also warned against rumors spreading on social media and from unofficial sources.
In recent days, screenshots and fake result slips have been shared in various groups, causing confusion and false hope for some learners who thought they had already passed or failed.
Officials say the process of finalizing, verifying, and printing results is still underway. MANEB wants to ensure that when the results are out, they are accurate and accessible to everyone through the proper channels. Rushing the process, they noted, could lead to errors that affect thousands of students.
Parents have been urged to talk to their children and help them stay calm during this period. Teachers have also been asked to guide learners not to believe everything they see online.
The board confirmed that the official results will be announced through its authorized communication channels once ready. These include the MANEB website, official Facebook page, radio stations, television, and notices sent directly to schools. Candidates will be able to access their results immediately after the official announcement.
