The Malawi Scorchers have been warmly welcomed home following their impressive run to the final of the tournament, where they narrowly missed out on lifting the trophy.
Fans and supporters have praised the national team for its dedication, commitment and determination throughout the competition, saying the players have created a lasting moment in Malawi’s football history.
Despite falling short in the final, the Scorchers’ journey has brought renewed hope and pride to Malawians, with supporters expressing confidence that the team can go one step further and claim the title in future competitions.
Tributes have also been extended to everyone who contributed to the team’s campaign, including supporters who travelled, organised activities and rallied behind the Scorchers throughout the tournament.
Malawians who supported the team during the final have equally been thanked for demonstrating unity and patriotism while standing behind the national side.
One supporter, J Inno-K M from Blantyre–Lunzu, described the Scorchers’ achievement as a historic milestone and urged the players to remain focused as they prepare for future competitions.
“Even though we did not lift the trophy this time, you have given us hope, courage and motivation that next time we will surely win,” the supporter said.
