Minister of Education, Science and Technology, Bright Msaka SC, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting private higher learning institutions, emphasising the crucial role private investors play in complementing government efforts to improve the country’s education sector.
Msaka made the remarks during Lake Malawi Anglican University’s (LAMAU) 5th Congregation held at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC). The event was celebrated under the theme: “Transformed to Transform: Building a Nation of Wisdom, Knowledge and Unwavering Faith.”
The Minister expressed appreciation for LAMAU’s commendable contributions to human capital development and the implementation of the Malawi 2063 Agenda, highlighting the institution’s role in transforming and empowering young people.
Furthermore, Msaka urged graduates to demonstrate the impact of their university education in their future endeavours. He stressed the importance of academic excellence, spiritual maturity, and community engagement across various disciplines.
“Allow me to convey warm congratulations from the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology to the 176 graduating students across various disciplines, namely theology, divinity, commerce, public health, education, community development, and corporate security management.”
Right Reverend Daniel Karonga, the newly installed Chancellor of LAMAU, hailed the government’s commitment to improving the education sector and expressed gratitude for being entrusted with the opportunity to lead the esteemed higher learning institution to greater heights.
In his remarks, Napoleon Dzombe encouraged LAMAU’s new graduates to continue working hard beyond their academic achievements and to strive for excellence in all their endeavours.
