Minister of Information and Communications Technology, Dr Shadric Namalomba, is today representing President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika at the funeral of the late Monjeza Maluza.
The ceremony is taking place at Mtakataka in Dedza District, where Maluza is being laid to rest.
The late Maluza served as Member of Parliament for Dedza East and later as Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security.
Before joining active politics, Maluza also served the nation as Commissioner of Police.
Speaking on behalf of the President, Dr Namalomba said President Mutharika is deeply saddened by the passing of Maluza.
He said the President is mourning with the bereaved family and the nation at large during this time of loss.
Dr Namalomba noted that President Mutharika highly valued Maluza’s contribution to peace and security in Malawi.
He urged Malawians to emulate the late Maluza’s patriotism, dedication to duty, and commitment to national unity.
