MINISTER WIRIMA URGES WOMEN’S EMPOWERMENT THROUGH EDUCATION AND BUSINESS

Minister of Basic and Secondary Education, Madalitso Kambauwa Wirima, has emphasized the need to empower women through education and entrepreneurship, calling for collective efforts to foster financial independence and leadership among women.

Speaking at the Wealth Woman Summit at Bingu International Conference Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe, Wirima commended the event for providing a platform for women to showcase their leadership and innovation. She encouraged attendees to network, share experiences, and inspire one another to break barriers and achieve their goals.

“Today’s summit highlights the incredible potential of women to drive change and contribute meaningfully to society,” Wirima said. “Empowering women through education and opportunity is essential for building a brighter future for all.”

She reaffirmed her ministry’s commitment to working with stakeholders to promote women’s rights and access to resources, stressing the need for supportive policies that enable women to succeed in education and entrepreneurship.

Wealth Magazine CEO Harry Chima pledged ongoing support for women entrepreneurs, emphasizing the magazine’s role in showcasing their successes and challenges. He urged the business community to invest in women-led initiatives, recognizing their vital role in economic growth and innovation.

Now in its fifth edition, the Wealth Woman Summit aims to create a collaborative environment where women can share knowledge, build networks, and access resources to excel in leadership and business. The event featured motivational talks from successful entrepreneurs and industry leaders who shared their experiences and strategies for overcoming challenges.
