Machinga Likwenu Member of Parliament, Tulinje Muluzi, has reiterated his commitment to fulfilling the pledges he made to his constituents during the campaign period.
Speaking in the National Assembly in Lilongwe, Muluzi highlighted that his priority remains the delivery of key developmental projects, including improvements to road infrastructure, expanded access to clean water, and support for education initiatives.
The legislator also addressed the ongoing challenge of corruption in Malawi, describing it as a major barrier to national progress. He urged for stronger systems of transparency and accountability to safeguard public resources and ensure that development benefits reach all citizens.
Muluzi further commented on the ongoing Supreme Court case regarding an electoral petition filed by his opponent, who has challenged the validity of the election results in Machinga Likwenu. While acknowledging the claims of alleged irregularities, Muluzi maintained that the election was conducted fairly and expressed confidence that the court’s review would uphold his victory.
“I am not shaken by this matter,” Muluzi told Parliament. “My focus remains on serving the people of Machinga Likwenu with integrity and ensuring that development continues regardless of political disputes.”
