The First Lady of Malawi, Madame Professor Gertrude Mutharika, has arrived at Landscape Grounds in Area 44, Lilongwe, where she is expected to distribute relief items to vulnerable members of the community.
The donation exercise forms part of efforts aimed at assisting people facing hardships, particularly those affected by economic and social challenges.
Upon her arrival, Madame Professor Mutharika was accorded a warm welcome by the wife to the Second Vice President, Madame Tadala Chihana.
She was also received by Minister of State Alfred Gangata and Minister of Homeland Security Peter Mukhitho, who are in attendance to support the event.
Officials from NBS Bank and NICO Group were present, representing corporate partners contributing to the relief initiative.
The Beautify Malawi Trust, an organization associated with the First Lady’s charitable work, is also taking part in the distribution exercise.
Traditional leaders from the area have joined the event, expressing appreciation for the support being extended to vulnerable households in their communities.
