MP FLETCHER DONATES 228 BIBLES TO FELLOW LAWMAKERS

A gesture by Chiradzulu Masanjala Member of Parliament Tonny Fletcher has brought a spiritual touch to proceedings at Parliament after he donated 228 Bibles to fellow legislators.

The Bibles were distributed on Tuesday at Parliament, where Speaker Sameer Suleiman welcomed the initiative, expressing hope that lawmakers would make good use of the Holy Scriptures as they carry out their responsibilities.

Suleiman said reading and reflecting on the Bible could help Members of Parliament become God-fearing leaders and guide them in serving the nation with integrity.

Speaking after the presentation, Fletcher said the donation reflects his belief that Malawi is a God-fearing nation and that its leaders should lead by example by embracing and studying the Word of God.

The lawmaker said public servants have a responsibility to demonstrate moral leadership, adding that the Scriptures can provide guidance in decision-making and public service.

Fletcher is no stranger to Bible donation drives. During his campaign ahead of the September 16, 2025 General Election, he distributed more than 4,000 Bibles to people who attended his campaign rallies, describing the initiative as part of his commitment to promoting Christian values alongside national development.
