Zodiak Broadcasting Station (ZBS) reporter Eamon Piringu has been named second runner-up in the Broadcast/Audio category at the 2026 Sanlam Financial Journalism Awards held in South Africa.
Piringu was the only Malawian journalist shortlisted as a finalist in this year’s prestigious continental competition, where he competed against some of Africa’s leading financial journalists.
The recognition marks another milestone in Piringu’s growing journalism career, reinforcing his reputation for excellence in financial and development reporting.
The latest honour comes just months after he won the 2026 MISA Malawi Award in the ESCOM Anti-Vandalism Journalism category.
He was also presented with a Special Recognition Award at the 2026 MESHA Health and Climate Change Journalism Awards in Kenya.
Piringu’s recent achievements highlight the increasing recognition of Malawian journalism on regional and continental platforms, with his work earning acclaim across financial, infrastructure, health and climate reporting.
