ZOMBA UPDATES PROPERTY VALUES AFTER A DECADE

Zomba City Council is updating property values in the city through a new valuation exercise, more than a decade after the previous exercise in 2014/2015.

The exercise, known as the Quinquennial Valuation Roll (QVR), will run from September 2026 to April 2027 and cover residential houses, commercial buildings and other properties.

Zomba City Council Public Relations Officer Aubrey Moses says the exercise is long overdue, noting that significant changes have taken place since the last valuation.

In a public notice signed by Chief Executive Officer Archangel Bakolo, the council says the exercise is being conducted in line with the Local Government Act, which provides for property valuations every five years.

The council has urged property owners to cooperate with the valuation team to ensure the successful completion of the exercise.
