Mzimba Central Member of Parliament, Engineer Vitumbiko Mumba, on Saturday met with residents from the constituency who are living in Blantyre and other parts of the Southern Region to discuss development priorities for the area.
The meeting provided an opportunity for constituents to share their views and recommendations on projects aimed at accelerating development in Mzimba Central.
Chairperson of the constituency’s Area Development Committee (ADC), Charwita Nkhonjera, said the committee had already developed projects worth K4.1 billion and was considering additional initiatives under the K5 billion Constituency Development Fund allocation.
Nkhonjera also highlighted several development projects that Mumba had personally financed in the constituency.
These included the purchase of 20 computers to support education, the installation of solar power systems, and the procurement of two ambulances to strengthen healthcare services.
Speaking during the engagement, Mumba said the consultations were aimed at gathering views from constituents on how development efforts in Mzimba Central could be further enhanced.
He emphasized the importance of involving residents in decision-making processes, saying their input was crucial in shaping development projects that respond to the needs and aspirations of the people.
The meeting formed part of ongoing efforts to promote inclusive development and strengthen collaboration between the constituency’s leadership and its residents, both within and outside Mzimba Central.
