SPEAKER SULEMAN THANKS DELEGATES FOR SUCCESSFUL CPA AFRICA REGION CONFERENCE

The Speaker of the Parliament of Malawi and outgoing President of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Africa Region, Right Honourable Sameer Suleman, MP, has expressed gratitude to delegates for their participation and contribution to the success of the 55th CPA Africa Region Conference and Annual General Meeting held in Lilongwe, Malawi.

Right Honourable Suleman made the remarks during a farewell dinner held in Lilongwe at the conclusion of the conference.

He said the participation of delegates from across the region had enriched the conference and reaffirmed the spirit of solidarity that continues to define the CPA Africa Region.

“Your participation has enriched this conference immeasurably. More importantly, it has reaffirmed the enduring spirit of solidarity that continues to define the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Africa Region,” he said.

Right Honourable Suleman also commended the CPA Africa Region Executive Committee, the Secretariat, development partners and participating delegations for their invaluable contributions to the successful hosting of the conference.

He said the collective efforts of all stakeholders had contributed to making the conference a success while providing an important platform for parliamentarians across the region to exchange ideas and strengthen parliamentary cooperation.

The 55th CPA Africa Region Conference and Annual General Meeting was held under the theme: “Renewing the Social Contract: Parliaments as Catalysts for Inclusive Growth and Citizen Trust.”
