KAUPA LAUNCHES REFORMED CDF IN ZOMBA CHANGALUME

Member of Parliament for Zomba Changalume Constituency and Minister of Defence, Dr Feston Kaupa, has launched the Reformed Constituency Development Fund (CDF) in his constituency, urging residents to take ownership of development projects and protect public resources from theft.

Kaupa has called on community members to safeguard construction materials such as cement and reinforcement bars, commonly known as Bagra bars, warning against the theft of materials meant for development projects.

Speaking during the launch, Kaupa outlined four major infrastructure projects to be implemented using the first K5 billion allocation under the Reformed CDF.

The projects include the construction of a 20-kilometre road from Thondwe Village Polytechnic to Maela Primary School, the construction of Ngala Bridge and Mambo Bridge, as well as the construction of Mauzi Concrete Bridge.

Kaupa said the projects are expected to improve road connectivity and access to essential services while addressing infrastructure challenges facing communities in the constituency.
