MINISTER CHARLES MHANGO APPEARED BEFORE THE PARLIAMENTRY COMMITTEE ON CHIKANGAWA PLANE CRASH AS THE FIRST WITNESS.

The parliamentary AD-Hoc committee on Chikangawa plane crash begins on public hearings.

The committee investigating the Chikangawa plane crash that lives of former late vice president Dr Saulo Chilima and 8 others on 10th June, 2024 has started on public hearing with the first witness minister of justice Charles Mhango before the committee to provide testimony.

Mhango has advanced the committee that the death of Chilima and Rough Kasambala must work together to have more evidence.

Later chief justice secretary to the government Dr Justin Saidi, Mr Charles Kasambala, and lawyer Mr Wapona Kita are also expected to appear before the committee to give evidence.

The committee has scheduled public hearings from 17th June, to 1Jul, 2026, during the time the witness will be called to give the evidence to the committee.

Mhango has indicated that the three previous reports has more gaps that need to be addressed including the one announced to start the funeral ceremony before the former president late Dr Saulos Chilima who sent to represent the former president Dr Lazarus Chakwera.
