QUALITY EDUCATION KEY TO MALAWI’S FUTURE — NSAKA

Minister of Education, Science and Technology Bright Nsaka has said Malawi’s future depends on a quality education system that equips citizens with relevant skills to drive national development.

Nsaka made the remarks today during the 2026 Research Dissemination Conference held in Liwonde under the theme, “Education for Sustainable Development: Building Skills for Malawi 2063.”

He said investing in education and skills development is critical to preparing Malawians to contribute meaningfully to the country’s development aspirations.

Acting Principal of Domasi College of Education, Dr Daniel Kapanda, said the research dissemination conference provides evidence that can help policymakers make informed decisions on education.

Kapanda said research plays an important role in identifying challenges within the education sector and informing policies and interventions aimed at improving the quality of education in the country.

Meanwhile, Chairperson of the 2026 Research Dissemination Conference Organising Committee, Damiano Kalinde, has called on potential partners to collaborate with Domasi College of Education in future conferences.

Kalinde said partnerships are essential in strengthening research and education in Malawi and supporting the country’s development aspirations under Malawi 2063.

He said continued collaboration among education institutions, researchers, policymakers and development partners would help promote evidence-based solutions to challenges facing the education sector.

The conference brought together education stakeholders to share research findings and discuss ways of strengthening education and skills development in line with Malawi’s long-term development agenda.
