Member of Parliament for Chipala Nafisi Constituency, Kingsley Chimwaza, has launched Reformed Constituency Development Fund (CDF) projects aimed at improving infrastructure and addressing challenges facing communities in the constituency.
Chimwaza, who was the guest of honour at the launch, said the projects fulfil promises made by the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) during the campaign period.
He expressed satisfaction that the constituency was beginning to see the implementation of the development pledges made to the people.
The MP highlighted the importance of bridge construction, saying the structures are essential for safe movement and access to different areas, as communities have previously experienced accidents and loss of lives while crossing some bridges.
Chimwaza said the selected projects would benefit many people who rely on the bridges for their daily activities, although he could not immediately disclose the total amount of money allocated to the projects.
He also urged community members to take responsibility for protecting the projects and construction materials against vandalism, stressing that the developments are intended to benefit them.
The launch was attended by Lilongwe City Council Chief Executive Officer Clement Sitambuli, among other stakeholders.
Chimwaza called on residents to safeguard the infrastructure to ensure it serves the community for a long time.
