Leaders of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) are expected to convene virtually on 22 June 2026 for an Extraordinary Organ Troika Summit to discuss key peace and security issues affecting the region.
The meeting, which is being hosted in collaboration with the Government of Malawi, will bring together Heads of State and Government to review developments across the region and explore ways of strengthening cooperation in conflict prevention and management.
Malawi’s Second Vice President, Enoch Kanzingeni Chihana, will chair the summit on behalf of President Arthur Peter Mutharika.
The summit is expected to assess the regional security landscape and consider measures aimed at maintaining peace, stability, and political cooperation among SADC member states.
The gathering comes as SADC continues to play a leading role in promoting regional peace and addressing emerging security challenges through dialogue and collective action.
Regional leaders are also expected to reaffirm their commitment to deeper integration and stronger partnerships as part of efforts to advance stability and development across Southern Africa.
The outcomes of the summit are likely to shape future regional strategies on peace, security, and cooperation among member states.
